our next productionBare Theatre’s Rogue Company presents Henry V by William Shakespeare Common Ground Theatre, Durham Thursday 7/22 at 8pm Bare Theatre’s Rogue Company presents William Shakespeare’s Henry V, opening at Common Ground Theatre in Durham on July 22. Based on real history, Henry V is the story of a prince who has been wild and reckless in his youth, but is suddenly called upon to assume the throne and lead England to war against France. The young king must navigate political treachery from his own friends, hardship in combat, and low troop morale against insurmountable odds, culminating in the famous battle of Agincourt. Directed by Carmen-maria Mandley, this Shakespearian history is told with extreme physicality, humor, heart, and a no-holds-barred approach that has become a signature Bare Theatre style. Rogue Company is a free summer conservatory for Triangle youth between the ages of 14 to 21. Participants work with professional guest artists and peers for six weeks to produce a full production. Rogue Company productions have included Titus Andronicus, which was awarded runner-up for the top ten shows in 2005 by the News & Observer and King Lear, receiving acclaim from The Independent Weekly which noted, “And intense it was…” (Sarah Lupton).
