It’s curtains up on two musicals in the Triangle this week – “Violet” from Playmakers Repertory Company and the ever-popular “Mary Poppins” from North Carolina Theatre. Improv fans will want to check out the Percolator at Moonlight Stage Co., and “Success” plays just one night at the PSI Theatre in Durham.

Heathers – July 15 – 31, North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre (NRACT), Raleigh – The 1988 cult movie got a stage adaptation in 2014 and now darkens the stage at NRACT in a high school musical that is decidedly not for the kids
Improv Percolator (ONE NIGHT ONLY) – July 22, Moonlight Stage Company, Raleigh – Moonlight hosts an evening of improv by local groups Riot! – Riot! and Waynger Wick
I Wish You a Boat – July 9 – August 28, Ward Theatre Company, Durham – Wendy Ward’s fledgling production company stages a Titanic-sized shipwreck in the intimate space the size of a living room in this sophomore effort
Mark Twain Now (Imagine What He’d Say Today!) (ONE NIGHT ONLY) – July 23, Moonlight Stage Company, Raleigh – Moonlight presents a one-man show about the iconic American author
Mary Poppins (OPENING) – July 26 – 31, Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, Raleigh – The beloved nanny from one of the most popular Disney films of all time lands on stage (by umbrella, of course) for a one-week run by North Carolina Theatre
Success (ONE NIGHT ONLY) – July 23, PSI Theatre, Durham Arts Council, Durham – J Weeks Entertainment presents an original play about success and how society defines and measures it
Trenches (ONE NIGHT ONLY, pictured above) – July 22, Burning Coal Theatre at the Murphey School, Raleigh – Constellation Moving Company makes a stop at Burning Coal for its tour of an original production inspired by WWI and featuring aerial acrobatics
