Gaddy-Goodwin Studio Theatre
Raleigh Little Theatre
301 Pogue St., Raleigh
Bare Theatre holds open auditions for the following productions:
Titus Andronicus – November 5 – 21, 2015 at Common Ground Theatre. Often considered one of William Shakespeare’s bloodiest and most violent tragedies, Bare Theatre revisits the play that began its last 10 years of full seasons. Director Heather J. Strickland reexamines the play with an all-female cast and crew, exploring the ways women compete and tear each other down in a modern world that already challenges them. As part of the rehearsal process, cast and crew will participate in conversations about women empowering each other — some discussions will include community women’s organizations. FEMALE ACTORS ONLY
Love Letters – February/March 2016. A. R. Gurney’s 1988 Pulitzer finalist has run on and off Broadway and featured many A-list actors over the years. As part of Bare Theatre’s new “Barest of the Bare” series, Director Rebecca Blum explores the story – told over 50 years by two characters in letters to each other – with actors of various ages. 4 MALE AND 4 FEMALE ACTORS, ALL AGES
Richard II– May 2016 at the Durham Fruit Company. Shakespeare’s history play reveals the downfall of a 14th century monarch that sets off a chain of succession that will see civil wars, epic battles with France, and that would re-write the history of the Western world. G. Todd Buker examines the fragility of rulership and the nature of power by setting this play in a modern London underworld of gang violence in an environmental warehouse setting. ALL ACTORS
