Bare Theatre is very proud to announce new members to our administrative team! They’ve already been integral in our decision-making for a while now, but we’d like to recognize their contributions to this wonderful “little company that could.”
LUCINDA GAINEY – Education & Training Director
Lucinda started her work with Bare Theatre in 2008 when she stage managed The Merchant of Venice. Since then, she has acted in 5 plays, stage managed 3 more, and directed a couple of one-acts.
She graduated with Honors in 1980 from Carnegie-Mellon University with a BFA in Drama (Acting Emphasis). She spent a summer as an apprentice at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox Massachusettes in 1979 and returned in January of 2015 for the Month-Long Intensive. She is now a liason with Shakespeare & Company to introduce their approach to education and training to the Triangle area.
Her passion is Shakespeare: especially introducing his work to young people in a way that brings the words alive and makes them excited about seeing and doing Shakespeare.
HEATHER J. STRICKLAND – Outreach Director
Heather J. Strickland has worked in the triangle area for nearly 15 years as a director, actor, and dance/fight choreographer. She is one of the re-founding Directors of Bare Theatre in 2005 and has worked on numerous productions in many capacities, including: Titus Andronicus, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, Othello, The Tempest, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Taming of the Shrew, A Winter’s Tale, The Tempest, The Crucible, Cymbeline, and As You Like It. She has worked with many schools and performance groups as a performer and teacher, including Raleigh Little Theatre, Deep Dish Theatre Company, Burning Coal, Ghost and Spice Productions, Cary Players, The Nickel Shakespeare Girls, Duke University, Durham School of the Arts, and Franklin Academy. Heather has a degree in Theatre Arts from Flagler College in Florida and is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors.
CHUCK KEITH – Resident Writer
Chuck first became involved with Bare Theatre as an actor in the troupe’s 2005 production of Hamlet. Since then, he has been active in local theatre, predominantly with Bare Theatre, as an actor and playwright. He has had plays performed by local companies such as Cary Players, The Arts Center, and Bare Theatre along with performance works enacted at the NC Renaissance Faire, the Elizabethan Tymes Festival in Manteo, NC, and the SPARKcon Festival in Raleigh, NC.
RON YORGASON – Company Photographer
Ron lives his life as a mild-mannered software engineer by day, but at night he sneaks out in his alter ego taking photographs of anything that moves… or doesn’t move. You can hire his services for portraits, special events, weddings, product photos, sports, or other creative projects you might think up. You can find samples of his work on flickr: https://www.flickr.
